10 months. It’s been 10 months since I left home for this new life. A new state. A new city. A new lifestyle. It’s obvious that many things around me have changed. I experienced seasons, I interacted with kids from all over the country with all different backgrounds, and I have done things that I could never have imagined.
So much has changed around me, but how much have I changed? A lot of people, I hear, say that freshman year of college is when they find out what they’re really about or when they experience the most change. I feel as if I am the same though. Yes, I’m doing different things. Yes, I wear a uniform to pretty much everything. Yes, I know how to shoot things and shine my shoes. But how much have I really changed where it really matters?
I think when I look deep inside myself, I can’t say I’ve changed all that much. Maybe I’ll look back and say ” Wow, I’m a totally different guy,” but for now, I feel as if I’m the same: proud, quick to annoy, lazy, manipulative, judging.
And that scares me. I don’t want to be the same person, I wanted a fresh start, but I guess without a complete renewal, we all go back to what seems easy and natural to us. I want to be different. I want to let God take complete control of my life.

DERRICK ROSE REPORTEDLY TEARS MCL AND ACL IN KNEE, DONE FOR SEASON
I’m crushed.
Plus, Rose likely won’t be close to 100% until this time next year, at the earliest. We lost a peak year in the career of one of the truly special athletes in this entire world, and it is at least in part, due to the greedy NBA schedule I’ve been railing against all season.
I just went apoplectic on twitter, and I don’t have the energy to copy it all here, so check out my timeline.
A little bit of tweezing and nike might have one hell of a marketing campaign on their hands.

The latest “it-movement” to hit America.
Honestly, I love the goal. Uganda holds a very special place in my heart so, personally, I’d love to see that man held responsible for the atrocities he committed. If this movement is going to bring about awareness and, subsequently, change in that…
